I know that sometimes I can be "hard to get". I tend to struggle with filtering my passion into words that make my messages more easily understood. I'm a tell it like it is kinda gal....

Thank you for posting this video! Today's Oprah is on this very topic. I won't be able to see it, I'll try to record it and touch base with you on this again!

whew...
now that I've mellowed....

You see, I'm the step-mom. I've got 5 step-kids that are unhealthy, "ADHD" (I hear Ritalin is a fantastic BABYSITTER...), rotten teeth, pale, un-coordinated, un-interested, lazy half-a$$in' everything they touch, could give a crap about school, have never had to earn anything, don't know what a goal is...shall I continue, or do you get the idea?

BUT I LOVE THEM!

They HATED that I have removed all traces of sugar from their diets. When they ROLLED THEIR EYES because I ask them to help pick vegetables from my garden, I rolled that iPod right outta their world!

I didn't send them to their rooms. I sent them outside in the back yard for military drills. I taught them to swim. I make sure they mow. I make sure they get dirty in the garden.

Once they've cleaned up, they feel better. They feel accomplished. They have more focused energy. Then, they WANT TO HELP IN THE KITCHEN. They FORGET that they no longer have a cell phone with which to text people that don't care about them.

After a few healthy dinners, they relax well and sleep soundly. They actually start to bring up school on their own and are excited about projects they are working on.

One year ago, one was a pyro and now wants to design video games. His computer skills are now stellar! One year ago, the ten year old had the mind of a 4 year old and now wants to be an inventor!

Replace the schmegma in their lives with what will fuel their lives, and then, you won't have to worry about health care!!!!!!!!!

What have we allowed society to do to our childeren?

When do parents stand up and actually accept responsibility for their laziness?

You have to have a license to drive a car.
You have to have a license to catch a fish.
You have to have a license to uphold your constitutional right to keep and bear arms...

...But they'll let any idiot squeeze out another person, over and over....

Take responsibility for what you purchase for your child to eat!
Take back control of your home and tell the spoiled brats, "NO!"

Start them in a healthy manner and you won't have a battle to begin with.
Act responsibly and teach responsibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're just kids. DON'T EVER LET A CHILD DICTATE TO YOU!

They are diagnosed with ADHD when they're desrespectful and un-interested.

NOT IN MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
